A German Silver-Mounted Hunting Sword Mid-18th Century With bright blade with central fuller over nearly its entire length on both sides to the adapted double-edged point, a narrow fuller bordering it along the back, the forte on both sides richly etched and gilt against a blued ground with a panel of strapwork, a trophy of arms, foliage inhabited by hounds pursuing a stag on one side and pursuing a boar on the other, and a fleur-de-lys above drapery, hilt cast and chased with rocailles and fluting on the downbent shell-guard, quillon-block and slightly recurved quillons, tang button on shaped pommel-cap, and agate grip of tapering octagonal section beaked at the top (old chip), in its patent leather scabbard (crazed) with locket and chape en suite with the guard, the former with frog-button and two pockets for the by-knife and fork also en suite, the knife blade incised with a cutler's mark 41.8 cm. blade This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
