A terracotta amphora. Height 22cm. Maurice Jenkins (1933-2022). North Cornwall collector. Maurice was a lifetime collector and started in the 1950s. He opened a shop in Liskeard in the 1970s called Canon Hill Antiques. He visited a number of Middle Eastern countries in his lifetime including Egypt in the late 1970's when his interest in Islamic and Asian antiques began. He was a man with an eye for quality and a love of antiques, history and travel who purchased privately and at auction over the decades. Over a lifetime of purchasing privately and at auction, he created an eclectic ensemble of collections reflecting his interests. He died a few weeks before his 90th birthday and was still buying until that time.

A collection of three Qing dynasty or later water dropper pot. Comprising a Qing dynasty blue glazed amphora shape water dropper, a celadon glazed with peony petals from the neck rim to shoulder, mould tendrils on the bottom. Further a water pot in the form of an animal. Largest measures approx. 10cm tall x 9cm diameter.

South Etruria, Cerveteri or Veio, Ca. 650 - 640 BC.An Etruscan bucchero nikosthenic amphora with engraved vertical lines in the central register of the body. The large conical neck is connected to an out curving rim. The flat section handles are attached to the rim and the shoulders of the vase. Ca. 350 - 325 BC.A slender Panathenaic amphora, attributed to the Wolfenbuttel Painter, featuring white and ochre decoration. Side A shows an Ionic naiskos scene with a seated warrior holding a helmet and a spear. The figure is flanked by a nude male with wreath and patera, and draped female with wreath and mirror. Side B depicts two youths with staves and a diptych above. Elaborate palmettes decorate the sides below the handles, and a berried laurel in white adorns the top rim. The item is accompanied by a TL certificate from QED. Item comes with a professional historical report from Ancient Report Specialists. This item is checked against the Art Loss Register database. Eagle with hare facing left / Crab and fish. 15mm. 1.6g and 1.8g. S. 751. The latter circa 411-350 B.C. Satyr holding kantharos kneeling left / Amphora within square (holed). 11.5mm. 0.8g.
A late Victorian silver and hardstone novelty scent bottle, of amphora vase form, with engraved decoration and inset with specimen hardstone plaques, with chain and ring, by Joseph Cook & Son, Birmingham 1888, 4.5cm high, and another very similar by the same maker (maker's mark only). (2)One has a small ding to the back near the point, otherwise both appear to be in good condition.
A Royal Worcester porcelain vase, mid 19th century, the central amphora held aloft by three eagle's talons emerging from a trefoil base, the body hand enamelled with birds among foliage (possibly by John Hopwell), gilt jewel effect banding to the shoulders and gilt band with continuous floral and foliate frieze to the foot, impressed maker's mark and RD lozenge for 1867 to base, 17.5cm high CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows small chips to the foot rim, the largest 5mm wide, and quite heavy rubbing to the gilt keyline around the foot rim. The gilt knop band also shows quite heavy rubbing in places. The remaining gilt highlights show more minor rubbing. The beads of the jewel effect banding show glazing faults across the surface but this may be as intended. Otherwise the piece shows no obvious chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration.

A pair of Royal Worcester companion figures titled Evening Dew and Morning Dew circa 1870, each modelled as a classical maiden floating above reeds and ferns, scattering dew from their gilt detailed amphora shaped urns, their diaphanous robes trimmed with blue and pink detailing, each mounted upon a glazed inverted socle and pedestal base, impressed mark, shape numbers 2/36 and 2/35, height 40cm.
