The artwork was created by graphic designer Storm Thorgerson, known for his many previous collaborations with Pink Floyd and his work with other bands, including Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. The print shows two large stone heads positioned together in a field in Cambridgeshire. Metal versions of the heads were also constructed and are seen on the main album cover. However, as Pink Floyd liked both versions, the stone heads appeared on the album's cassette cover and within the band's tour brochure.
