Ltd created this special Japanese poster as a commercial tie-in to promote their paper products. It showcases a classic image - taken by Philippe Halsman - of Clint Eastwood as "Dirty" Harry Callahan pointing his 44 Magnum revolver. Interestingly, listed to the right are several stats for Callahan's weapon of choice and what appears to be a typo/mistranslation "Dirty Hurry". Provenance: David Frangioni is a published author, music businessman, producer, technologist, engineer, philanthropist, and drummer. He has worked with Aerosmith, Shakira, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne, Robbie Williams, and hundreds more. He is CEO of Modern Drummer Magazine and has several books published, including Clint Eastwood: Icon: The Essential Film Art Collection and Crash: The World's Greatest Drum Kits, both by Insight Editions. DIVN), very fine; offered with a copy of 'Scotland Yard Experiences, From the Diary of G.H. Greenham', Routledge (pub.), 2018. and three copy photographs of the recipient.36mm diameterGeorge Greenham was born in Trieste in 1835. He joined the Metropolitan Police in 1869 and almost immediately joined the Criminal Investigation Department. He worked on numerous cases involving fraud and murder and, due to his ability to speak several languages, was often involved in cases involving foreign nationals, frequently travelling abroad. He acted as bodyguard to Queen Victoria for 17 years on her trips abroad and also as bodyguard to Napoleon III, the Empress Eugenie and the Prince Imperial during their exile in England. On one notable occasion he saved the Prince Imperial’s life by apprehending a French assassin who was on the point of shooting the Prince with a revolver. In 1883 he, along with other officers, foiled a plot to blow up the German Embassy in London. Awarded the Knight of the Order of St Phillip by the Grand Duke of Hesse and another award by Alexander II of Russia. Full details of his career in the police are recorded in “Scotland Yard Experiences from the Diary of G. H. Greenham” originally published in 1904 and re-printed in 2018.

Nat Long [Nathaniel John Long] – Lady pointing a Revolver at a Gentleman, mid-20th century monochrome watercolour with charcoal and pencil on card, signed, 27cm x 38cm, together with eight further watercolour and charcoal works by the same hand. Note: Nat Long (1893-1955) studied at the Bournemouth School of Art and later worked as a graphic designer for Garrett & Atkinson and Birn Brothers amongst others. He served in the First World War with 1/4th Hants in India and Mesopotamia.
