Beschreibung: Je glatt leicht gekehlte Fahne und Steigbord. Auf der Fahne Gold radiertes Ornamentband, in Ovalen je Militaria auf Purpurgrund. Auf dem Spiegel wechselnde Rheinansichten mit großen Panoramen in stimmungsvollem Licht und Wolkenbildern.Die Ansichten zeigen unterschiedliche Blickwinkel auf die Festung Ehrenbreitstein und die Moselmündung am 'deutschen Eck' bei Koblenz:- Ansicht auf Festung Ehrenbreitstein mit Schwimmbrücke - Kriegszerstört. In der Nähe der heutigen Pfaffendorfer Brücke. - Festung Ehrenbreitstein gesehen vom Flussufer bei Neuendorf. - Ehrenbreitstein & Koblenz mit Ansicht auf die Basilika Sankt Kastor. - Blick auf das deutsche Eck von einer Anhöhe aus. Carl Daniel Freydanch, 1811-1887, Ein Veduten-Maler der Königlichen Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin KPM, Berlin 1987.Die Prospekt- oder Vedutenmalerei auf Porzellan spielte seit Anbeginn in verschiedenen Porzellanmanufakturen eine wichtige Rolle. Beginnend mit eher phantastischen Landschaften wurde es im Laufe des 18. Jahrhunderts immer wichtiger real existierende Landschaften und damit wiedererkennbaren Landstrichen oder Schlössern darzustellen.In der königlich preußischen Manufaktur zu Berlin spielten Ansichtenporzellane eine wichtige Rolle und die Erzeugnisse zählen zu den schönsten Beispielen feiner Lupenmalerei. Neben Porzellanplaketten wurden auch große Prunkvasen vor allem mit Ansichten des Königreich Preußen und Berlin dekoriert.Aber auch Service wurden auf Geheiß des preußischen Königs als Ehren- und diplomatische Geschenke geschaffen. So auch das berühmte Service für den Herzog von Wellington auf dessen Dessertteller Orte abgebildet wurden, welche eine wichtige Rolle im Leben des Herzogs spielten, wie beispielsweise das Eaton College.Die Folge der hier vorliegenden zwölf Teller ist nicht nur aufgrund ihrer Provenienz und der bis heute vollständigen Anzahl außergewöhnlich. Alle Teller tragen die gleiche Malermarke und die Qualität der Rheinveduten ist bemerkenswert. Sie entstanden, den Manufakturmarken zufolge, zwischen 1837 und 1844 und sind beredtes Zeugnis der Faszination für den Rhein und die ihn umgebende Landschaft oder vielmehr der sogenannten Rheinromantik. Beginnend mit der Wende vom 18. zum 19. Jahrhundert entwickelte sich um die teils wildromantische Landschaft des Rheintals, vor allem zwischen Mainz und Köln, eine regelrecht schwärmerische Sichtweise der Landschaft mit dem sich schlängelnden Flusslandschaften, idyllischen Prospekten mit mittelalterlichen Bauten und Burgen. Zunächst fand sie ihren Niederschlag vor allem in literarischer Form, wie in den Schriften von Goethe und Hölderlin oder dann später Heinrich Heine aber natürlich auch in den bildenden Künsten. So unternahmen zahlreiche Künstler wie beispielsweise William Turner oder Salomon Corrodi Reisen zu dem großen Strom. Aber natürlich auch Künstler der Düsseldorfer Schule prägten die Sichtweise und Wahrnehmung der Landschaft und so erfuhren die populärsten Bildmotive auch in Form von Postkarten und Druckgraphik eine große Verbreitung.Im Falle der Folge der zwölf hier vorliegenden Veduten-Tellern liegt der Schwerpunkt ganz eindeutig auf den Motiven rund um Koblenz. Sie zeigen nicht nur in stimmungsvollem Licht zahlreiche Facetten dieses Ortes, sondern auch heute teils nicht mehr existierender Bauten wie beispielsweise die spektakuläre Schwimmbrücke.
