JAMES BOND: DR. NO (1962) - UK Quad, 1962Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 30th May. The auction will begin at 2:00PM BST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Country of origin, British UK Quad poster for the debut Sean Connery James Bond film "Dr. No" (1962). The Mitchell Hooks poster illustration establishes Bond's credentials as a suave but dangerous character, the sex appeal in the film being clearly evident. The famous "007" gun logo (so synonymous with the franchise) designed by Joseph Caroff also appears for the first time on the poster. Originally folded, this unrestored example displays and presents to very good effect with excellent colours. The bright yellow background and red lettering is often a weak point on this poster as it fades very easily, but happy to report that isn't the case here. Few could have guessed that the film and this poster would herald the development of the global Bond phenomenon with this poster one of the single most sought-after Quads to exist.40" x 30" (102 x 76 cm)Additional Information: Printed by Stafford & Co, Ltd. Netherfield, Nottingham and LondonCondition: Fine+Folded with minor cross-fold separation and staining and discolouration to the whites as well as some black ink transferal.
