A late 19th Century Bavarian quarter striking 'Cuckoo and Quail' table clock, in chalet style oak case, the movement with going barrel to an anchor escapement and twin fusees to the hour and quarter trains, the birds appearing on the quarters and hours sounding on three bellows and a pair of coiled gongs; the case surmounted by a bird and crisply carved with trailing vines; the dial with bone Roman numerals and carved bone hands. 15"w x 22¼"h.
GERMAN ARCHITECTURAL BRACKET CLOCK, large carved steeple form bracket clock in the black forest style, the cuckoo style opening to reveal a monk, with losses, 94cm height Lot 474: Case with some minor losses, finials both damaged & one with taped repair. Numerals rubbed, no sign of worm damage. Clock appears to work for a short while then stops, striking mechanism does not seem to wok properly, & monk reluctant to appear. See photos
