Registration - WJ55 DHYChassis No. - SCBBE53W46C032466M.O.T. - July 2024Odometer - 78,571Presented in stately silver, this example of Bentley’s Flying Spur saloon comes with a navy and tan upholstered interior, with wood veneer dashboard, door trim, and centre console. Bentley’s colossal twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine is installed up front, producing more than 550hp when new, and powering all four wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox – helping make it the fastest and most powerful production saloon in the world when new. Handling is dealt with by an adaptive ais suspension system with continuous damping control. ‘WJ55 DHY’ is offered with factory-fitted equipment such as heated, cooled, and massaging electric seats, self-closing doors, sunroof, premium stereo system, infotainment system with satellite navigation, climate control, and multi-function steering wheel.Offered with a Bentley dealer service history up until 2012, and regular service stamps thereafter, ‘WJ55 DHY’ comes with all manuals and extensive history documentation. Owned by four keepers since new, the present owner has held the keys to ‘WJ55 DHY’ since the end of 2022. They describe the bodywork, paint, and interior as in ‘good’ condition, while the engine, transmission, and electrics are rated as ‘excellent’. The odometer reads 78,571 miles, and this Flying Spur is reckoned as a good overall example of Bentley’s luxury saloon. Introduced in 2005, Bentley launched the Continental Flying Spur – as it was initially known – using the 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbo engine used in other VW Group top-end models. It was also built on the same VW Group platform as Audi’s A8, the Volkswagen Phaeton, and Bentely Continental GT ranges. It quickly proved a popular model, complementing the Continental GT coupe and convertible line-up. Bentley produced the first-generation model until 2013, when the second-generation model was released, with a lower-cost V8 engine joining the range, as well as the Continental part of the name being dropped. Finally, the third-generation arrived in 2019, built on a new platform and with significantly updated styling, as well as a plug-in hybrid model joining the range – with production on-going. · Beautifully specified and well cared for example of Bentley’s Flying Spur.· Relatively low indicated mileage.· Powered by Bentley’s hugely powerful twin-turbo W12 engine.

Lot 73

Registration - C546 JGLChassis No. - SCAZS000XFCH12535M.O.T. - December 2024Odometer - 87,000This Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit is presented for auction after long-term ownership with the current vendor, who purchased it in 2016. It has a comprehensive history, including receipts from early in its life, and has benefitted from plentiful maintenance by the vendor, including new rear discs, bearings and pads, new front pads, front downpipes and crosspipe, rear spring support, battery, numerous service items and period-correct Avon tyres. The vendor states that the bodywork is in ‘good' condition overall: while there are a couple of small rust bubbles and micro-blistering, the paintwork has a lovely sheen overall. The interior is presentable too, with no rips, splits or burns, and also benefits from refurbished wooden door cappings. This car displays just 87,000 miles on the clock, though this is not warranted, and, while it was built in 1985, it was originally registered on the Isle of Man. It came to the UK in 1987, so that’s the date of registration shown on the logbook. The vendor says the only reason for sale is imminent retirement. As well as being a Rolls-Royce enthusiast, they are heavily into Harley Davidsons, “so after eight great years, have decided to pass the car onto someone who will get more use out of it than me – which is what she deserves”.The Silver Spirit was launched in 1980 as the first of a new generation of Rolls-Royce. It offered modern new styling with sleek, angular lines that were perfect for the 1980s, and an upgraded interior. Underneath, the architecture was derived from the earlier Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, including the classic 6.75-litre V8 engine, while a smooth GM three-speed automatic added to the reliable mechanical makeup. A beautifully cushioned Rolls-Royce ride was delivered by hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension, while Girling automatic hydraulic ride height control added sophistication. The Silver Spirit would also form the basis of the Flying Spur, Silver Dawn, Bentley Mulsanne and Eight series, and others. In summary:· Beautifully prepared Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit in classic metallic silver· Comprehensive history file and original handbook· Well-priced and very presentable Rolls-Royce

Powered by Bentley’s famed 6.75-litre V8 petrol engine – turbocharged here – and four-speed automatic transmission, ‘M421 MRP’ is a superb example of Bentley’s Grand Tourer. The two-door, 2+2 coupe is offered in Wildberry Red – similar in colour to Bentley’s royal models – over cream leather interior with burgundy piping and wood veneer dash. Coach-built by Mulliner Park Ward, this Continental R comes with original features such as factory-fitted phone and electric seats.Documentation shows that ‘M421 MRP’ was initially an Bentley demonstrator, and has since been owned by Weetabix owner Sir Richard George; it also has a class win rosette from the Bentley Drivers Club. The current owner is just the eighth in a history that is approaching 30 years old, having owned ‘M421 MRP’ for more than a year. The indicated distance covered on the odometer shows 60,176 miles, and the seller rates all areas of the Continental R as ‘excellent’, from engine and transmission, to electrics, interior, paint, and bodywork. Bentley’s Continental R was launched in 1991, and was the first model from the Crewe-based marque to not share a body with Rolls-Royce since the 1965 S3 Continental. When new, the Continental R was the fastest and most expensive Bentley of the time, and also the most expensive production car in the world. Offered only as a 2+2 coupe – a convertible version was called the Azure – the Continental R used Bentley’s turbocharged 6.75-litre V8, and versions featured self-levelling hydraulic suspension, and a sport button to sharpen up gear changes. Many wealthy buyers requested special alterations to suit tastes, with fewer than 2,000 models built before it ceased production in 2003. · Rare opportunity to own a Bentley Continental R coupe.· Extensive and interesting documented history.· Powered by Bentley’s legendary 6.75-litre V8.
