It shows a scene on the beach of Arzon in Bretagne/France during the low tide with a fisher for shrimps. Reference: S.L.375. Hand signed and numbered 1/50. Dry point etching. A valuable hand signed and numbered landscape etching by this important artist. / Dimensions: 23,80 x 29,50 cm / Condition: Excellent impression on a laid paper sheet 30 by 36 cm. Condition is very good. It has some remains of old hinges at the top of the backside. / Literature: S.L.375 --- I.F.F. Lacune --- Eugène Delâtre (1864-1939) A prominent early twentieth century French etcher and printer, Eugene Delatre studied art techniques under John Lewis Brown and under his famous father, Auguste Delatre. Auguste Delatre (1822-1907) had established himself as the most sought after printer of fine etchings during the latter nineteenth century. During this period he printed the etched plates of such prominent artists as Meryon, Bracquemond, Whistler, Seymour Haden and many others. Eugene Delatre continued this fine tradition into the twentieth century and printed the plates of Picasso and others.
Eugene Delatre first gained international recognition as a creative etcher during the mid 1890's when he contributed plates to such influential publications as "L'Estampe Originale" (1894). Many of these early works were etchings printed in colors and in this decade Delatre, along with such etchers as Jean Francois Raffaelli and Manuel Robbe, led the way in the revival of the color etching.

Internet live auction (behind closed doors) of Old Master Prints and a selection of Modern Prints. We auction each lot one by one, approximately 80 lots an hour. Guaranteed original work!. We start at 18 o'clock CET with a selection of modern works including Ensor, Delvaux and Renoir. The Old Masters follow at 19 o'clock CET with works by the most prominent old masters, such as Durer, Rembrandt, Wierix, Van Leyden, Goltzius, Van Ostade. The items have extensive item descriptions and several photos. Letter of authenticity available on request, a small fee may apply. In-house international insured shipping at perhaps the lowest cost on the market, all this to allow the bidder a hassle-free experience.

All disputes over the sale fall as appropriate, under the jurisdiction of the Belgium law, regardless of the domicile of the parties. The European consumer protection and, in particular, the strict Belgian implementation is applicable. A private citizen if resident of the European Community can return the item for a full refund within 14 days after receipt without limitation of his other rights as provided by the European consumer protection.
