A French 1816 Model Cavalry Officer Of The Line's Sword Mid-19th Century With tapering blade double-edged at the point and fullered over its entire length on both sides, the forte etched and gilt (gilding worn) with indistinct Parisian maker's name over each side, one side with a panel of three stars beyond, and with a panel of bright cut decoration on the other, brass half-basket guard cast and pierced with a bound foliate motif within a circle and joined by three scrolled bars to the fluted knuckle-guard (top bar detached), ovoidal pommel-cap (upper edge slightly filed off) chased with a fleur-de-lys, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in original steel scabbard (old light pitting, minor denting, brass throat mount incomplete) with shoe and two rings for suspension 91.5 cm. blade For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
