A French Light Cavalry Officer's Sabre Early 19th Century With curved fullered blade double-edged at the clipped back point, the forte etched and gilt against a blued ground (some loss of finish) with a martial trophy and foliage over much of its length on both sides, brass hilt with half-basket guard with recessed borders and comprising with two rounded bars swept up to join the knuckle-guard, ovoidal langets, lobed rear quillon, pommel-cap and back-piece in one, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in original steel scabbard (light pitting overall) with brass suspension mounts each with brass ring 86.3 cm. blade For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
