A Very Rare Cased 50-Bore Percussion Adams Patent Self-Cocking Five-Shot Revolver With Tranter Patent Double-Trigger Retailed By William Parson, Swaffham, No. 20, 971.Y., Circa 1855 With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved around the muzzle and signed in capitals along the top-strap within a foliate border, case-hardened cylinder engraved around the forward edge, blued border engraved frame decorated with foliate scrollwork, blued sprung safety-stop, arbor pin and catch (probably replaced), border engraved trigger-guard and case-hardened stepped ovoidal butt-cap each decorated en suite with the frame, patent double-trigger numbered '1010', rare patent detachable rammer, chequered figured rounded grip, and much original finish (blueing flaked): in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including G. & J.W. Hawksley powder-flask (cut-off spring replaced) with much original finish and split-ring for suspension, and Tranter patent brass bullet mould, the interior of the lid with retailer's trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon, London proof marks 16.5 cm. barrel Footnotes: Provenance According to a handwritten note in the case this revolver belonged to Mr. Penrose's grandfather J.D.P.
