An Indian Top, A Persian Dhal, And An Indian Tulwar All 19th Century The first with domed steel skull chiselled with a design of repeated symmetrical flowering foliage between borders of running foliage, central spike on a petalled dome, adjustable nasal with palmette-shaped finials, two plume-holders, and camail of riveted and solid rings (pitted overall); the second of convex circular form, the outer surface embossed with a sun-in-splendour centred on four domed bosses, all against a ground of etched foliage inhabited by pairs of hares and framing four gold-damascened roundels each framing two Persepolitan kneeling figures, the rim with applied brass border with ovoidal cartouches etched with Persian verses originally silver-damascened (old wear and light pitting); the last with curved single-edged blade, and characteristic steel hilt damascened with silver flowering foliage (old wear and pitting); together with an African spear head of steel, with large leaf-shaped blade, and tapering tubular socket (4) 30 cm. high, 46 cm. diam., 80.5 cm. blade and 75.8 cm. head For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
