An early 20th century art deco silver-gilt and enamelled minaudière, import mark for S&LU, London 1925 Rounded rectangular form, the front decorated with an enamel panel with a Chinese-style depiction of a junk beneath a cloudy sky in puce on a golden ground, the reverse with similar gold-coloured enamel with black border, onyx cabochon set push buttons open to reveal a mirror-backed ivorine writing slip, a rouge pot and a further compartment, with black silk rope and tassel, length 8.5cm.
