Description
Set of four original vintage travel posters / carriage prints issued by the London North Eastern Railway. 1. Sansend near Whitby in Yorkshire, featuring a reproduction of a watercolour by Jack Merriott. This was one of the LNER Post-War series and features a view of a viaduct, cottages with red roofs on a grassy hillside, a rocky estuary and the sea shore. The viaduct has since been demolished. Horizontal. Excellent condition. Country of issue: UK, designer: Jack Merriott, size (cm): 25.5x50.5, year of printing: 1950s; 2. Water colour by Henry J Denham - Blythburgh, near Halesworth, Suffolk. The picturesque scene shows a man walking with a dog along the grassy bank of a river towards a village with red houses and a large church. Blythburgh's church is called the Holy Trinity Church (also known as the Cathedral of the Marshes) and is one of the earliest Christian sites in East Anglia. Horizontal. Excellent condition, ink stamp and pen on reverse. Country of issue: UK, designer: Henry J Denham, size (cm): 25.5x50.5, year of printing: 1940s; 3. Watercolour by marine artist Henry J Denham. The painting depicts Maldon in Essex and shows sailing boats on the estuary with houses and a church in the background. Horizontal. Excellent condition. Watercolour by Frank Sherwin - The River Wharfe Ilkley Yorkshire - The image shows a calm river with rowing boats on it, a sandy shore with people wandering along the water’s edge, leafy green trees and a stone bridge with arches under a blue sky. We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. We use Royal Mail special delivery with insurance for postage in the UK and signed and tracked service where available with a maximum insurance of £250 for international shipments. Over-sized posters (over 80cm) are shipped by UPS.
We aim to dispatch items within 1-3 working days, delivery to UK addresses usually takes 2-3 working days. Delivery to international addresses varies depending on destination and usually takes 7-10 working days.
