A Continental Horseman's Pot Probably French, Mid-17th Century With rounded one-piece skull (some old holeing) embossed with vertical fluting between ridging and all rising up to a cone-shaped finial on a petalled mount with dome-headed rivets, the base of the skull plain and with riveted bluntly-pointed peak, the latter with recessed turned border, shaped mount and wing-headed screw for an adjustable nasal (missing), neck-guard of four upward-lapping plates, each articulated on dome-headed rivets and with recessed turned border pierced with circular holes, cusped upper edges pierced en suite, the lower plate drawn-out to a blunt point en suite with the peak, and single-plate cheek-pieces also en suite and each embossed with a heart pierced with numerous small holes 30.5 cm. high For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
