A Low Countries 32-Bore Long Wheel-Lock Holster Pistol Circa 1650, Probably Dutch With tapering two-stage barrel of part octagonal section at the breech, the latter stamped with two star-shaped marks beneath, plain tang retained by a screw from beneath, rounded lock with downcurved pointed tail and retained by three screws each with domed head, slightly domed external wheel with a hook at the base, tapering pan-cover release button, and cock-bridle secured from within, ebonised fruitwood full stock (minor repairs) with three dentate horn side-nail washers, flared butt (slender old splits on one side), rounded ebonised pommel on a horn shim and with central horn pellet, iron trigger-guard, moulded ramrod-pipes and fore-end cap, and iron-tipped ramrod (iron parts bright with scattered old pitting) 45 cm. barrel Footnotes: Provenance Christie's London, Fine Antique Arms And Armour Including The Collection Of Dr. Robert Amalric, 24 May 2006, lot 130 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
