A Very Rare Imperial Russian Officer's Schapska Late 19th/Early 20th Century The black patent leather skull with silver peak trim punched with pairs of repeated leaves, silvered Imperial eagle frontal plate overlaid with plated and polychrome enamelled eight-pointed star, a silver-plated banner above engraved in Cyrillic 'FOR DISTINCTION IN THE TURKISH WAR 1877 AND 1878 YEARS', the black patent leather trencher top (warped, some stitching faults) with yellow fabric side panels and silver and red lace trim, the cap lines en suite and carrying ornate tasselled flounders, leather-lined graded silver-plated chinscales, black leather sweatband and stamped yellow fabric lining, and in fine condition Footnotes: The Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878) was a conflict fought in the Balkans between the Ottoman Empire and a coalition of Balkan nations lead by the Russian Empire For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
