Fuller, 64 Wardor St., Soho, London, Circa 1845 With contemporary rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrel rifled with nine spiral grooves and now engraved in capitals with maker's details along the top flat, reblued folding leaf back-sights calibrated from '50' to '150' yards, recase-hardened breech with platinum line and pierced platinum plug, and engraved with a tree on the top flat, border engraved tang decorated with foliate scrollwork and a wolf's head, border engraved flat detented lock signed in capitals and decorated with foliate scrollwork and a stag and hind in landscape, foliate engraved dolphin hammer with engraved safety-catch behind, figured half-stock (some old bruising) with chequered grip and fore-end (minor repair along the upper edge on one side), border engraved steel mounts decorated with foliate scrollwork and comprising butt-plate with a running stag in a landscape on the heel tang, trigger-guard with chequered spur and decorated with a lion attacking a leopard on the border engraved bow, trigger-plate with pineapple-shaped finial decorated with a boar's head, vacant silver escutcheon and engraved steel barrel-bolt escutcheons, adjustable set trigger, sling mounts, horn fore-end cap, and brass-tipped ramrod, probably original (some old rust patination), Birmingham and London proof marks 74.8 cm. barrel Footnotes: George Fuller is recorded at 104 Wardour Street, London between 1836 and 1845 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
