A Rare Household Cavalry Officer's Dress Sword 19th Century Of regulation pattern, with tapering fullered blade double-edged towards the point, ormolu hilt retaining much of its original gilding (some old wear), compressed globular pommel with medial turn, and spirally-grooved fishskin-covered grip bound with copper wire, in later brass scabbard (some denting towards the tip) with two openwork panels lined in fishskin on one side, and two rings for suspension 90.5 cm. blade Footnotes: These swords were formerly referred to as the 1814 pattern, however they were in use circa 1805-1832.
